Crowd at Recent SLL Cultural Program With Author James Aloisi
James Aloisi, former Massachusetts Secretary of Transportation and author of The Vidal Lecture: Sex and Politics in Massachusetts and the Persecution of Chief Justice Robert Bonin came to the Social Law Library on Thursday, February 2, 2012 to discuss his new book. Mr. Aloisi gave a fascinating talk on the political and moral climate of 1970’s Boston, particularly the appointment of Robert Bonin to Chief Justice of the Superior court by Governor Michael Dukakis, whose own re-election campaign was greatly affected when Bonin was found guilty of misconduct, as well as being considered having committed an act of impropriety when he attended a lecture by Gore Vidal. After talking about his new book, Mr. Aloisi opened the floor for questions and even commented on the current state of the Massachusetts public transportation. See Photos of this Program
